The following 5 videos in this section were shot at the AtomicMods Race for Education in Indiana at the Columbus North High School in January of 2006. This was a race we sponsored and we were there all weekend, doing educational workshops, tuning tips and just hanging out with the racers. They use XMODS in the classroom to teach science, electronics, mechanics, and physics so they were very knowledgeable and very into the XMODS racing scene.

After the finals, we thought the motor should be about toast, so we decided to run it and see how much longer it would take to fry it. This weekend was the first time we had used Comm Drops and we were taken by surprise to see how long it lasted, and even when the motor melted down, the brushes were intact. Without the Comm Drops this motor would normally burn up in half the time.

I get asked this question all the time, "How fast can an XMOD go?" Well ask no more, here is a video that shows just how amazingly fast an XMOD can go. The car used was a Nagasaki Class AtomicBuilt with an 11 tooth pinion. The only modification to the Nagasaki build was the addition of the Aluminum Joint Cup Shafts. I tagged the bloopers on the end so you can see how hard these cars are to handle at high speeds. The best speed shot is the side shot, its so fast it appears surreal, but I assure you its the real deal.

The AtomicBuilt Element has only a hand full of upgrades, but with Lithium power among these it becomes a force to be reckoned with. The Element is able to smoke mere Ni-MH cars with ease, and drive forever when others are in the pits changing batteries. Lithium's higher voltage provides more power and punch, literally doubling the top speed of the Element and increasing accelleration. The lighter weight of the Lithium batteries reduces the overal mass of the car dramatically therfore improving handling responsiveness. Question is, can you handle this much power?

Here is something interesting that was just sitting on the company server waiting to be leeched. This footage chronicles the Art For Food project that Rob's Rotary club did in 2004. You may not recognize Rob as he had hair then. Rob designed the rocket and oversaw construction and the edited the video. His sense of humor really comes through on this one. He will probably delete this when he realizes its posted, so watch it while you can.
