When you add lithium to your XMOD Evo, sometimes the power switch can be
faulty when transferring the extra voltage. Here is a tutorial to
properly eliminate the power switch on your Evo chassis.
Required Items
- XMOD Evo
- Small Vise or
Helping Hands
- Solder
- Soldering Iron
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Side Cut Nippers
Step 1
First, unscrew the motor wire screws.
Step 2
Take out the antenna screw and other screws holding on the top cover and
remove the top cover.
Step 3
Now get started on the power wires. Here we are desoldering the Red
Power Wire.
Step 4
Then move on to the Black Power Wire.
Step 5
Use your nippers to cut off the power switch.
Step 6
Back to the top of the board. Locate the "line of 5 prongs."
Step 7
Grab your soldering iron and solder and solder the 4th and 5th prongs
together.
Step 8
Here's what it should look like.
Step 9
Now, underneath the board, you should see the power switch. Take that
bad boy out.
Step 10
Now just reverse the process. Put those power wires back on...
Step 11
...followed by the top cover and motor wires.
Step 12
Turn it over and you'll notice the power switch vacancy.
Congratulations on getting rid of that glitchy power switch!
