I got a new Xmods Bumblebee and today it is the fastest Xmod I own. When I was first introduced to Atomicmods.com in 2005 they had a motor that they were testing in their shop that was called the Blaster HC Prototype. I called them up and they told me I had to pretty much sign a waiver stating that the motor got really hot and it is my fault if it dies or catches fire.

The Mustang I am having trouble with the steering on it but it is a great little car as well.

Uhhh... Well I have a some what good story. What happened was bad, but its fun to tell. I bought my first XMOD like forever ago, then I tore it apart (like a dumba$$) then I got another from a friend. Next my dad bought me one and then my nana bought me one. I then got the lithium pack, and one of the wires cought the ground, and my XMOD blew up. I had turned it off and it started smoking. There were a few more that I had that blew up from putting a tad bit too much sloder, or wire problems, but the ones i have now are in good shape. So I hope I don't mess them up.

Another thing that I want to say is that AtomicMods is the greatest! I love my XMOD, and it is really fun to play with, and it gives me something to do. AtomicMods has made it even better because now I have a faster car! I can't wait for the lithium and chassis.

Thanks for all the help. I know I have called a billion times about stuff and AtomicMods has ALWAYS been as fast as possible. It really is unimaginable how fast your things get delivered, and if you are having any problems with anything that has to deal with AtomicMods, they will help. For example, I ordered something on Sunday, it got paid for on Monday but not shipped. So I called Thursday night after hours and left a message asking them if there was a problem. They wrote me back on my e-mail, that I had given to them over the phone, the next day and told me that it had to be put together and shipped.

I think you get the idea......

We bought the Giro-Z lap counting system a couple of weeks ago. We choose the kit option without the bridge and saved 50 bucks. We built a bridge out of 3/4" PVC and cable tied a piece of 1/4" lexan across the top to mount the I/R sensors on. Total cost was around $10. (I've included a couple of pictures to help other who might like to do the same)

We had our first race on Friday using the system and we had a blast. This system works great and didn’t miss a lap.

We race both Mini-Z’s and XODS and it is a little more difficult to mount the transponders on XMODS, but it was a great learning experience for my students.

The coolest thing about setting up the sensors is using the camera on our cell phones to see the IR light. We do a lot of robotic projects that involve IR transmitters and receivers so the Giro Z system has provided us with another great learning tool.

I am a pro driver for the Lowes American Lemans Racing Team, and race Mini-Zs not only to have fun, but also to hone my hand to eye coordination, so racing cars is my hobby, and my profession. I know more and more professional drivers who are turning to Mini-Z racing to improve their performance, and to have some fun.

In Mexico City, Mini-Z racing is very competitive, and I felt like I needed an edge. I had heard that the AtomicMods Racing Team was the best in the world, and so I called them for some advice and ended up buying a Mini-Z AtomicBuilt 2007 Team Edition MR-02 Modified without the FETs so I could run it in the stock class. They invited me to join their AtomicMods.com Racing Club – Houston which meets once a week so I decided to pick up the AtomicBuilt in person and join them for some racing. Since our Lowes Racing Team was doing some testing in Atlanta and I had a few free days I hopped on a plane and headed to Houston.

From the moment I arrived, Rob and the guys treated me like a long time friend. They gave me a tour of their facilities which was neat, well organized and very impressive. The track is really very large, very clean, with every amenity you could ever want at a track; it’s definitely the best Mini-Z track I have ever seen. Rob’s pit setup is also amazing; it’s almost nicer than what we have for our real cars at the Lowes Racing Team. Frank & Cristian also took the time to teach me how to improve my driving, and a lot more about how to properly set up a Mini-Z.

I had a fantastic time, and not only got an amazing car, but came away with some new friends and a whole lot of new racing knowledge. If you want to learn from the best, you are in the right place. AtomicMods.com is the Formula 1 of the Mini-Z world!

Dear Atomicmods,
After several months of hard labor, collecting parts and modifying I have finally finished my VDS pan body. It is on a Generation 1 Xmods with Atomic T2 motor, Li-ion Pro Kit, 4x2 4562 FETs, T-turns resistors, Atomic super flex wire, Deans Micro plugs, all wheel drive, all billet aluminum parts, ceramic bearings, wheel shims, perfect drive shaft, suspension upgrade, wide billet rims front/ back, super sticky tires (glued with Griplock glue), Atomic aluminum locking wheel nuts, switchblade chasis and Atomic spring loaded antenna. I used a 1967 Chevy Camaro front clip and shaved the front, 2-part epoxy to attach the rear clip and a little trimming in the wheel wells to make it fit just right. It wasn't easy to get the VDS on a Generation 1 but it was worth the wait and thanks to you guys my ride is complete, check out the attachment. Even with the super grip tires this car will roast them. I just had to email you a pic and say thanks for all your help with this project, AtomicMods.com rocks!

My Firebird is truly on fire, thanks to the guys at AtomicMods.com. The V2.2 board was alot eaiser to install than stacking FETs. Paired with the suggested T2 motor and lithium battery it is insanley fast. The back diff is locked and it still gets lights up the tires with the remote set to low throttle trim. AWD is a must with this set up. The paint job was first. I didn't want a purple firebird. I had to sand down the shiny finish on the body for the paint to stick properly.Taped up the windows, exacto-knifed the excess tape. 2 coats blue, 2 coats clear and this is what I got. I shudder to think what speed could be achieved with long gears and polished concrete. There is an outdoor roller hockey rink not far from my house and I can't wait to get there. Thanks guys! There used to be a question between all my xmod buddies. Who was the fastest? I don't think I need to tell you the answer...but I will - its me.

I ordered the Atomic Superstock Motor, Shielded bearing kit, GPM motor heatsinks, and a delightful CF shaft to revive my 4 year old Skyline which I got right after Xmods originally came Ou t. POW! These upgrades pack a major punch! I installed them and promptly headed to my Church’s gym for some speed passes. I was blown away by how well everything worked.

Then came my Mini-LST. Hoo-boy, I’ve had some interesting experiences with this monster. I’ve cart-wheeled it down stairs, front flipped off playground equipment, and after all this abuse, a fried servo is about the only problem I've had. I thought the aluminum version was pretty sweet and couldn't get any better, well the Titanium chassis proved me wrong.

Right out of the package, you can feel the awesome strength of the Titanium. Additionally since there is no paint on it you can feel the texture of the metal which is nice and smooth, with no unsightly bumps or anything. This chassis is definitely precision cut. Not to mention the color looks pretty nice against Lithium-Ions.

This chassis was the perfect piece to add to my project g35, way to go AM on another killer product!

I am buying an AtomicBuilt this Christmas

At first about 2 years ago my friend Justin got into XMODS. I just though they were some stupid car that only went about 5mph for only like 10 minutes. I was wrong. When he showed me his stock i was pretty impressed. But about a year later he bought lithium from Rob (xmaster). I thought it would give it at the max a 3-4mph increase. But 2 days later (Xtra fast shipping!!!) he got them in the mail. it took him a while to install and charge them, but i saw him come outside with the biggest grin on his face. I was wondering why. Well he put his XMOD down and all i heard was "WHOOSH" and it disappeared. i thought he was messing with me, but i FINALLY spotted that flying supra. I swear it was at least going 25mph just with a little upgrades. I was starting to get into XMODS and to this day me and Justin still are.

I would vouch for your stuff over any other's any day! I have 2 (running) Civics which are hopped up with YOUR parts! The guys who play basketball at the college gym where I do my speed runs and tests all turn heads whenever one of my cars tears up the side court. My friend Ken says that nothing that small should ever be made to go that fast. I've got his gears spinning to retrofit a 2 speed auto tranny somehow! He's a smart guy, and I think he's going to do it too! We'll see! I treat them with a little more care now, because they still overheat if I drive them too hard. Regardless, I love your stuff, you'll always have me as a forever customer as long as I have an Xmod to play with!

My name is John Piehnik. I am stationed here in Iraq as a Chinook mechanic. I play with my XMOD to keep me sane when I have off time. I just installed the V2, all the aluminum, bearing mods, carbon fiber, and wiring that I purchased from you guys. I haven't been able to get the tight turns in yet due to my present location, however, the car is now a flipp'n rocket. I would take a picture but "seen one XMOD seen 'em all". However, what is on the inside does matter. The parts fit perfect and the performance is stupid amounts of fun. Well to start off there is nothing negative I can say about the performance of these parts. Rob, Brad, John and all of the Atomicmods.com crew are all hard workers and put every ounce of their energy into making these parts the best quality they can.

Now for “The Accident”

I recently took a trip to Lake Powell (you already know where this is going don't you) and I thought that it might be some fun to show off all of the parts and the unbelievable speed that these things can handle.

Anyway I was going along the docks and the car went out of control and slipped off of the edge of the dock, I then threw the remote (cause those are cheap to replace) and simply jumped in after my car. I think that because of all of the aluminum it sunk immediately and I didn't have enough time to catch it before it went into the black abyss that is Lake Powell (I’m sure some people out there know what I’m talking about). At the time of the accident I had the Corvette body on it with the wild body kit and it kind of made me mad that I was stupid enough to do something like that. The people that did see my car were really amazed at Rob's work and the great detail that all of the parts got into as well as the speed that these things can handle. I told them about Rob's site and I think eight of the ten have visited the site and three of the eight have ordered from it. I just want to let the people reading these to know that if they are interested in modifying their cars, to do it through Atomicmods.com.

Now that I’ve acquired some more funds, I’ve decided to try a new project.

All of which fit under the chassis of the infamous WRX STi. I have almost every XMOD body and the STi is the only one that I have found to fit the Lithium Quick Kit. I cannot even try to outrun my car now it is so fast. Recently I attended a race in Colorado and the people there asked me "How did you get your XMOD that fast?" HOLY SMOKES! This car is freaking insane. I cannot believe how fast it is!!! The thing is a rocket on wheels. I can’t even control it I might actually have to get a slower motor to be able to drive the damn thing. The thing is psychotic; you guys have seriously outdone yourself! Two words... freaking amazing... I was literally blown away when I powered up my car with the 750mAh cells... my car flew. Not only does Rob's L-ion upgrade make your car fly, however it was a lot easier than I expected. I am a beginner at soldering so I bought the No Drill Lithium Pro Kit. I was able to complete the installation in about 2 hours with no problems at all.

Ok so I am the biggest paranoid internet consumer in my neck of the woods and I would never spend a dime unless I completely feel comfortable. And Rob has managed to make me feel at complete ease. So I sent AtomicMods.com a small fortune (no really - over $1200) and I got a Nevada AtomicBuilt and all the Billet Aluminum parts I could get my hands on, I sent a money order for too much and Rob totally caught it and emailed me to make me aware of it and rectified the situation by offering me to pick out more parts to ship with my current order to save on shipping charges. Some billet parts had come in that I could not purchase at the time of my Nevada order so I paid for them a week later and had Rob install them in my Nevada. I then placed two more orders as well and got a bit confused on what was where and Rob was awesome in helping me keep everything straight. Once again he combined the order I had gotten a few days later with my big one again saving me money and he threw in a tight turn kit because of the extra shipping money left over how cool is that? Very! Rob is as honest as they come!

Ok to the car...it’s worth every last hard earned penny. It’s so fast I swear it took off into the air at one point today I still cannot believe it! Hello Rob,

I have been running the V2 board with several different motor and battery combinations every day for months and it's never let me down! I've ran 250 size motors through this thing with 4 Lithium cells in my super custom Cyclone without any problems. (except for shearing two teeth off of my front bevel pinion!) The Nuke is my favorite 2 Lithium cell motor. Its an awesome motor that blows away any of the competition's motors at any price. The V2 board with lithium cells is a wicked fast combination!

XMODS IN THE CLASSROOM ; A TESTIMONIAL BY MIKE RILEY

I started thinking about using XMODS in the classroom when I first saw one in our local Radio Shack store a year or so ago. Electronics is a difficult subject to teach high school students because there is so much theory and paper work involved. Most students (teenagers and adults alike) want a lot of "hands-on" learning activities. That's what I had in mind when I started looking into using XMODS as a class project.

We started last year with weekly class races on Friday. Students were required to go through some learning activities about batteries, motors, etc. We sold candy to provide money for those who didn't have the financial means to buy a car.

What has developed from this class project last year is a full fledged movement at our school. I have students lined up outside my classroom door when I get to school in the morning needing parts or wanting help getting their cars fixed. Students have become motivated to learn and don't mind as much now doing the boring paperwork stuff.

The cornerstone of the learning part of the project is our website www.c4robotics.com/c4racing. On that site we post rules, race schedules and league standings. There is also a section called XMODS 101. There students find different kinds of learning activities. They are required to complete the assignments there to earn points for the racing league point standings. There are 13,000 points possible with only 4,000 coming from racing. Most of the points are based on different learning activities.

This has now spread over to the Drafting classes. My good friend, Mr. Sims has started using XMODS in his technical drafting classes. He has had some students do a complete drawing of an XMOD. It is awesome. He now has students wanting to join our weekly races and is designing a set of learning activities focused on technical drafting.

AtomicMods.com has been a great resource. Rob's innovative upgrades give us some fast cars as well us a lot of interesting topics to talk about in the class. Some of his "How To's" make great classroom lab activities. I use the Wet Break-in AtomicMods Style quite a bit. In this activity students learn to use the power supplies, digital multimeters, etc as well as learning some principles of DC motors. In doing the wet break-in they have to provide "before" and "after" data to show how much the upgrade really helped performance.

I have received a lot of encouragement from the administrators at my school. They quickly saw the learning value in what we were doing. I encourage other teachers to look into using XMODS as a learning tool in the classroom. It's a great way to give students hands-on learning experience that can be applied to a number of subjects.

I just installed my Tight Turns and it rocks!! My 67 Camaro turns on a dime now!! Thanks for sending 3 resistors since I lost one somehow. I was still able to do the mod myself and it wasn't that hard.

I took my car to the hobby track and now the steering range adjustment on the controller is actually useful. I'm going to switch the toe-in to 0, I have the 3.0 in now and it's too much turn! So far this is my favorite upgrade.

Here is a picture of the servo at full turn, it's a little blurry but you can see it goes to the lock like you said.

I powered up the car and started driving it around to get a feel for it. My friend Chad was about 50 ft ahead of me on a long strait away running his car wide open. I opened up the turnkey from 50ft (no kidding) behind him and passed him in about 2 seconds like he was standing still! What a rush! This car is so fast its actually a little intimidating to drive. Hey, here is my Xmod. The body is a Mini-Z S2000 body that originally had a fake soft top on. I cut off the top and turned it into a convertible by adding seats, a roll cage, even a dash, steering wheel and rear-view mirror. The hardest part was that the plastic plate is very low on the electronics, I actually had to cut off the motor plug to make it fit. I also made a custom rear clip from scratch to attach it to the chassis. This car is actually not my lithium car, I have a Supra with all the go-faster mods. If it put the Lithium on my S2000, it would be too fast and would get broken with my driving : ) Thanks for the great product and service!

I originally got the Ion cells for my XMODS. but I decided to put them into my newest toy. A Team Losi Mini-T. I had been running this thing on regular alkaline cells for a while, and that was ok. About as fast as a stock XMOD. Then I put in Rob's Lithium cells. I backed up the car a little, maybe 3 inches and while it was still rolling back I gunned it. HOLY CRAP!!!!! the thing did such a violent wheelie that it did a 240° flip in the air!!!! Now I plan on getting a few more batteries for my cars to have more fun with.

When I purchased the Nagasaki AtomicBuilt, it was supposed to be a gift. But as fate would have it, I became the proud owner this car. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am by this car's performance. I knew it would be fast, but not THIS FAST! The speed on this car is ridiculous. This car, straight out of the box, was going so fast I could barley handle it and this is not my first XMOD. I had to switch it to low speed to keep it under control. I have never seen an XMOD with so much torque and top end speed. I have an electronic engineering background and can speak with great authority when I say, "Rob's Lithium Power System is the very best for the XMODS, bar none!" I was truly impressed with the way Rob sought out the best power systems for these vehicles, tested it, and packaged it for the rest of us. The power per volume is unparalleled by any cylindrical cell available. It is only with his cells that I am able to achieve 16.8V while staying with stock chassis, suspension, and body. Where to start? How about with the throttle barely pulled and your opponent still sitting in the gates. Rob has come through in a major way on my car. I bought the Lithium Pro Power System from AtomicMods.com and the charger to match them. The charger puts out 8.4 volts and is adjustable. The charger needs 12 volts so a car battery or 12 volt power supply will do. It trickle charges the batteries after they have reached almost full capacity. The batteries charge up to 8.4 volts and after a few minutes they drop down to 7.5 and stay there for 45 minutes running all out with my motor which is a Braun rewound to 40 turns. I have never run them below 7 volts and I have run for an hour. A hotter motor of course will get less run time.

The weight savings is astounding! I used to run a 6 cell IC3 setup which weighed twice as much as the Lithium setup. The car now has a much lower center of gravity and drifts around turns at twenty that I used to have to take at ten. I would not go back to the Ic3. The LI670s have made the car perform better overall with much longer run time, improved handling and increased power.
